Many people hold the belief that you should not talk too loudly about the good things that happen in your life, out of a fear that jealous people may try to use that against you. While we could argue that taking this line of thinking too far may prove problematic, it's also true that sometimes it feels better to keep the more positive parts of your existence to yourself. 

The practice of enjoying memes can be a good example of this, as it's usually a solitary activity. While it's true that we sometimes send the highlights to loved ones or share them on social media, mostly it's just us and our screen taking stock of the sheer variety of internet humor.
