School sports take up quite a lot of a kid's free time. If you ever played soccer, baseball, football, or basketball in high school, you probably already know the schedule. Kids often leave right from school to hit the locker room and change into their practice clothes, then practice from 4-8, or sometimes longer. On days where there's no practice, there might be a scrimmage or a game. Not to mention you've got to do your homework and hang out with your friends at some point during the week! Some sports even require weekend travel. Basically, if you're playing a school sport, it requires a lot of commitment. If you're unhappy with your coach or teammates, it's going to feel like such a slog.
