Too many people fail to understand the meaning of the phrase 'if it ain't broken, don't fix it', which is simply a shame.

We understand when people want to improve, find new ways to work more efficiently, and most importantly, save money, especially in their lines of work. But sometimes those endeavors are simply unnecessary. How many times have you heard of employees who, in an attempt to save their company money, only end up costing more? Wouldn't it have been much better if they kept their heads down and not tried to fix something that already works perfectly fine?

But how do you stop someone with the power to change stuff that does not need changing? 

Well, the short answer is, you don't. Usually, the only thing you can do is let them make those mistakes, and hope they will learn their lesson for next time, assuming they are not fired for said mistakes. Which is exactly what happened in the story below.
