'They aren't my cats': Entitled roommate demands person clean up after their cat even though they're at home themselves, calling it "collective help" and being passive-aggressive when they refuse

A lot of people think that taking care of cats is easy, but as cat owners ourseves, we can tell you that is beyond untrue. It may be that cats are easier to take care of than some other animals, but there is still plenty that you need to do and know if you are going to have a cat yourself. You need to know, for example, how to play with cats, because there are right ways and wrong ways. You need to know how to get cats to drink more water, because sometimes, they just don't feel like it, but they need it. You need to know about overstimulation in cats and how it can cause them to bite us. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.

You need to know that adopting a cat means taking responsibility for that cat for the rest of its life, and if you don't feel like taking care of them, then you should probably reconsider adopting them. Because honestly, all the drama that you're about to read aside, the one thing that we are really worried about in this story is the cat.

The real victim in this story, truly, is the cat, and everyone should be aware of that. If its owner is at home and doesn't care enough to get up and go check on them and clean up their vomit… then we don't know if this person should be its owner at all. Major red flag.
