The Most Entertaining Parenting Texts of the Week (April 15, 2025)

Tell me if you've heard this one before: "I'm going to have kids early so I can enjoy my 40s and 50s." Or what about this one: "I'm going to wait until I'm 30 to have a kid so I can enjoy my twenties." These lines of reasoning are predicated on the notion that having kids is not enjoyable and is something you want to be relieved of eventually or postpone. Of course, there are the parents who have kids in their early 20s and then start all over again when they're in their late 30s, prolonging the time when they have kids in their house by decades. They are going to enjoy their life, whether they have kids or not. I hope that when or if I have kids, I won't look at those 18 years they're living with me as a period of miserable indentured servitude. But again, who am I kidding? I'm a 25-year-old goofball who's only responsible for myself.

    This was his defence. He says "she definitely did not", but mentions times that they actually did in 4 different places elsewhere in this email my parents travelled 300 miles to meet them twice and they were facebook friends sending messages back and forth.

    I have to say with regard to photos, You have many times accused your mum of sharing photos when she definitely has not. I must say I don't get it. Its an image. Its not real. There is no part of you in it. I thought we had gone beyond superstition where people believed your very soul was encompassed in a photograph. With the exception of does it matter.... but hey ho will be " exceptionally cautious in the future

    Back story: I parents have never liked my partner. Before they ever met him, they had: called the police on him (false ab e report), come to our home and shouted r cist comments at him and his mother (we're pretty much neighbours) tried to break us up a few times and basically on him, his existence and his family. All that adds to the reason why he doesn't want to meet them

    now. They never offered a proper apology. Boxing day 2024, I went to theirs for dinner and it ended in a screaming match between us all. The vibe was already off when I arrived. Dinner was silent, I missed my other half a lot. The argument started when I said to mum "I can help you tidy up and then go home as I have work

    tomorrow" my brother shot me a horrid look and I asked him not to look at me like that and he began screaming at me so of course, I screamed back. I was not about to have my 30 year old brother pop off on me (26f) and not defend myself. I left their home weeping out of anger and hatred for my bother and how hard they all came down on me as if he's the golden boy.
