‘[Mom] said I have no sense of familial obligation’: Condescending parents bail on their daughter after a breakup, she's forced to live in her car for months, then refuses to pay for a vacation to Florida for a family reunion; fallout ensues

This young woman escaped a toxic relationship only to find herself banished to the streets by an unmerciful family. Doomed to 'learned from her mistakes' as they'd hoped, she certainly learned never to trust anyone in her family again. All it took was two months of sleeping in a car in the Walmart parking lot to make her familial alliances—and their inherent weakness—abundantly clear.

Family helps family, right? Usually, this kind of phrase gets thrown around at the family reunion by the one cousin who seems to need a bailout every few weeks. But usually when we really need a helping hand, it actually is our family waiting in the wings to help us out… Not in the case of the woman in this next story. After freeing herself from an unhealthy relationship, she found herself with nowhere to live. Naturally, instead of staying with her ex, she asked her family for a couch to crash on for a month or two until she got back on her feet. However, being from a family of folks who believe that success is forged by 'pulling yourself up by your bootstraps,' she was met with contempt and I-told-you-so's instead of a place to lay her head at night.

Well, this lack of mercy was not forgotten when it came time for the family reunion vacation…
