The thing about helicopter parents is that they’re not doing their children any justice. Their children will grow up without a skillset to provide for themselves, or being able to be independent and take care of themselves.

“He’s an adult. This is a little embarrassing”: Mother posts on Facebook group for adult son to get a job, anonymous man responds that he should do it himself
Salutations, ladies and gentlemen. We're all familiar with the phrase, "mama's boy," but how many of us have seen it in person? Seeing it in the flesh can be nothing less than jarring and surprising. It's really a mystery why some mothers insist on treating their sons like they're still babies. Don't they know it's the least attractive thing for a woman to see a grown man who can't take care of himself or provide? The Oedipal complex is so strikingly clear that it can be even uncomfortable to watch. At a certain point, these helicopter mothers must let go of their children and let them spread their wings.
In the story below, the protagonist is a man who saw a Facebook post from a mom about getting her grown son a job. She even mentioned in the post that he doesn't know how to drive a car. So not only is his mother trying to get a job for him, but he's at an extreme disadvantage for being able to get to and from his job, which isn't going to look good to any employer.
