Airbnb guest meets a countryside cat who plays the long con for cuddles and snacks, instantly becomes the highlight of the entire trip

If you have ever stayed in a cozy countryside Airbnb and thought, "This place could only be better if it had a cat," then we've got the dream vacation story for you. One lucky guest checked into a hilltop cottage in the UK and was immediately greeted by a mysterious feline who seemed determined to be part of their stay. From the moment they arrived, this chatty tortie was waiting on the patio, meowing her greetings and refusing to let them out of her sight.

Rain or shine, morning or night, she was there, lounging nearby, hopping into laps, and casually making herself part of the group. By the end of the weekend, she had snuggled her way into everyone's hearts, including someone on the trip who didn't even like cats to begin with. Concerned she might be a stray, the guest checked with the host, only to discover that this charming little scammer had been wooing visitors for years. She wasn't lost at all, j =ust a professional Airbnb greeter, expertly trained in the fine art of guest enchantment. Five stars for the view, five more for the complimentary kitty cuddles. Honestly, we'd book again for the cat alone.

    "I recently stayed at a countryside Airbnb in the UK, tucked away on a beautiful farm next to a large house at the top of a hill. The views were incredible, the air was crisp, and—best of all—we were greeted by a very special feline host.

    From the moment we arrived, she was on the patio meowing at us like she was expecting company. She spent hours with us each day, curling up in laps, meowing non-stop, and sticking around even during drizzle at 9:30pm and again at 5:30am. I brought her a towel and she let me dry her off, though she refused to sit on it—clearly a cat with her own opinions."

    Konig Steve So we stayed at an airbnb or vrbo (can't remember) in Utah one time. There were two cats. The owners of the place were next door and they told us their names were Jamal and Macy. Jamal was very friendly and came to get petted a lot when we were outside. Macy was skittish and was nearby but never close enough to pet. My wife kept wanting to pet Macy and would make efforts to do so when we were there. I asked why she cared that much? She just said she really wants to pet all the cats.

    touristsonedibles Our airbnb in Puerto Rico was covered with little cats who we called the gatitos. They were so tiny, adorable and had clearly spent a lot of time in and around the airbnb. They expected snacks and to come inside and hang out.
