Entitled neighbor fesses up to calling the HOA on a nearby resident who isn't under their jurisdiction, resident confront neighbor: 'It was me [...] I called the HOA!'

No one likes a goodie two-shoes, regardless of whether or not you're in pre-school, college, or a full-blown adult. The truth of the matter is that this kind of personality transcends age, occupation, and even lifestyle. Sure, there are instances in which informing the people in charge that something's wrong is necessary and important. Still, at the same time, there will always be nosy individuals who hide behind rules and regulations to justify their desire for sabotage. 

In this instance, we have an entitled neighbor who convinced themselves that the author of this story was doing something wrong in setting up a mini-greenhouse in their backyard. What this neighbor didn't realize was that the author technically was not part of the neighborhood HOA and therefore could do whatever they wanted on their own property. As you would imagine, this revelation left the entitled neighbor speechless and grasping at straws for what they believed was "justice."

  • One of the amusing moments in this tale is how the neighbor fessed up to being the person who tattled on the author. There is a sense of self-righteousness to that empty reveal. Of course, it was empty because the HOA could not exactly boss the author around, much to the neighbor's chagrin. Several members of the online community shared their messages of solidarity with the author and expressed their own anecdotes about nosy neighbors and unnecessary HOA interactions.
