Scammer tries to close a real estate deal over text, ends up in negotiations with a property mogul cat selling a cardboard box for kibble

Hey, cool cats!  Is it just us, or do scammers seem to be just about everywhere these days? You know the ones. Random texts asking if you are selling your house, vague offers to "chat about a deal," and the classic "oops wrong number" opener. Most people delete them or block the number. But every now and then, a scammer sends their message to someone who decides to have a little fun. Or in this case, someone who pretends to be a cat.

This scammer sent a typical real estate scam text, expecting an easy mark. Instead, they got a response that read, "Hewo, sowwy dis wrong numbr. I is meowcat." What followed was a chaotic and extremely fluffy series of replies in full cat-speak. Within a few texts, Meowcat was offering up a fixer-upper cardboard box with "noo win" for 1000 kibble. Serious negotiations began. The cat described the box as flippable. The scammer either played along or had no idea what was happening. Either way, it became clear that this cat was not here to buy a house. They were here to sell one. Read on for all of the silly details!

  • Some cats knock things off the table. Some knock-down curtains. This one knocked a scammer completely off their game with a property hustle that made zero sense and every bit of joy. No money changed hands. No kibble was exchanged. But this property mogul void wasted time in the most delightful way. Because if you text the wrong number and get a cat, you better be ready to talk about real estate. Or boxes. Or both.
