Boss and coworker have a loud ‘introvert bash session’ and trash-talk friends for refusing to play a card game: ‘Tell me you don’t respect boundaries without telling me you don’t respect boundaries’

  • "Well, when I say this was a bash session, I mean it was a bash session."
  • "Conversation between my coworkers and boss, right at my desk, sounded like an introvert bash session."

Boss had just got back from a trip with some friends. They went on a Bourbon Trail, I think it's called?
  • Anyway, they're all literally standing at my desk having this loud a conversation about her trip. Boss starts absolutely trashing two of her friends, that
  • are a couple. This couple apparently didn't want to play card games with everyone when back at their cabin. Instead they wanted to rest and have some quiet time. No big deal. Right?
  • Well, when I say this was a bash session, I mean it was a bash session. Apparently this was just the worst thing this couple could
  • have done. "We were trying to play Euchre and we needed two more people but they just refused!" Calling them selfish and all kinds of things.
  • AKOJO ΟΙ
  • One of my coworkers exclaimed "They were on a trip with friends not just each other! They shouldn't go on trips like this if they just want to relax."
  • Just...what!?! Let me get this straight. You are all three sitting here trashing these people (at my desk for some reason) because they wanted to rest, have a little
  • quiet time alone together, after doing a freaking Bourbon Trail? You can't simply find a different game? Or find something else to do? There were apparently still
  • four of them. I think they could have found other games or activities. Just because you're on a "friend's vacation" doesn't mean you have to be up each other's the entire trip.
  • I'm glad I don't go on any trips with them. I'm thinking the couple aren't the "selfish" ones in this situation. Tell me you don't respect boundaries without
  • telling me you don't respect boundaries. And yes, sometimes the three of them go on work trips together and stay in the same hotel room. I will absolutely not be participating in any of that noise.
  • By the way, they had this conversation at my desk. I was actually trying to work, talk to clients on the phone, while this was going on.

  • botdrip1 Ewww I hate the little cheerleader lapdog coworkers who just blindly chuckle and agree with everything the boss say ughhh
  • MamaBearonhercouch We've had a handful of trips with friends and the lack of respect for boundaries is the biggest reason we stopped traveling with one couple. I need my down time. If we've spent all day doing tourist things and talking and being together, by the time supper is over I need to retreat to my room with a book or my tablet.
  • It isn't selfish to need a break. And I don't go on trips because I'm wanting to spend EVERY.WAKING.MINUTE with my friends. I want some time with them and some time for ME.
