'I've always been a dog person': A heartwarming rainy day rescue gives burnt out worker new purrpose as a proud cat pawrent

There are cat people and there are dog people. Some exceptional souls are both. This furtunate tale follows one such hooman who went from dog devotee to full-time cat pawrent. After resigning from a stressful job, on the way home, this caring hooman spotted a tiny, drenched kitten stranded by the rainy roadside. Without missing a beat, they hit paws and turned back to rescue the little fluffball. No mama cat or siblings were in sight, so the kitten was gently tucked into a box and whiskered away to a pet store for all the purrecious necessities.

At first, this tiny feline was mistaken for a "her" and named Hela, but soon showed signs of weakness in the hind legs. A trip to the vet revealed the kitten was actually a "him" and needed some eye drops for an infection. Renamed Loki, this little mischief-maker has since made a pawsitive recovery and now zooms around the house like a true zoomie champion.

What started as a random rescue turned into a claw-some bond. Raised as a dog person and still mourning the loss of a beloved pup, this hooman never expected to fall head over paws for a kitty. But Loki proves love can sneak up and pounce in the most unexpected ways!

    Was driving home after returning my laptop at my work place (I resigned due to stress), and right at the corner of my eye while my wife was driving me back I caught a glimpse of a kitten who was out wet by the roadside as it was raining.

    Decided we have to turn back and rescue that little fluff. Checked to see if mummy cat was around and any siblings but to no avail. So we placed him (spoiler) in a box, drove to a pet store (got all the necessities for a kitten) even got milk formula and all as we thought he was still an infant.

    First few days, we thought it was a female cat, as to our naivety we did not see the parts to suggest it was male. So we named her Hela and was caring for her for a few days as she seems weak and scared.

    Fast forward a couple of days, we noticed she wasn't walking with her hind legs and was worried so we brought her to the vet (which we were meant to anyways but wanted to find a proper veterinary)

    So we brought her there, she got the usual check up, de-flea, de- wormed and to our surprise she was a he after all according to the vet. So he will be named Loki now.

    He got some eye medication for some eye infection and it's been a week now and we are happy to report, Loki is a healthy boy now with mad zoomies running around our house.
