Spring has sprung, which means everything is blooming… including the mud. There's truly no worse feeling than waking up, groggily opening the curtains, and seeing that it rained overnight. Because you know that means your dog is already sitting at the back door, vibrating with anticipation, ready to barrel outside for their morning potty break and come sprinting back in with muddy paws like it's part of the routine. And if you have a lab like me, they're not just walking through the mud, they're rolling around in it like they just stumbled upon the greatest thing in the world (all while I'm already running late for work).

Then comes the awkward little wipe-down jig you have to do as you try to stop them from coming inside. Why is the last paw always the hardest? Why does your dog act like you're trying to do something torturous (like cut their nails) with a towel? Eventually, you basically just give up and accept the fact that your floors will have permanent paw prints until June.
