As The Chicks famously once said, "I've been a long time gone now, maybe someday, someday I'm gonna settle down. But I've always found my way somehow by takin' the long way, takin' the long way around." I couldn't relate more. Most of us, in some way or another, like to deviate off the beaten path. We like to feel like we're forging our own way in the world, not just copying someone else's. Maybe we feel like a path has been set out before us and we don't want to feel cornered by other people's expectations of us. Nobody likes to be pigeonholed. 

Whatever you do that makes you feel like you, all that matters is that you have something. Maybe you're into a really niche board game that nobody else is into. Maybe you're interested in a very specific genre of music. Maybe you quit your corporate job to join the circus. Either way.
