Entitled customers treat retail employee like scum, so after they purchase the $500 wedding gift for a friend, he replaces the price tag with an $18 one: ‘Making the [Karen] look like a [cheapskate]'

We've said it once, and we'll say it again: Don't mess with retail employees. Really, don't mess with any customer-facing employee. But retail employees are one of the roughest and toughest workers that will dish you some of the gnarliest revenge with a smile on their face. You won't even know what hit ya until days later, sometimes years! It's a foolish thing to have so much entitlement that you think you can get away with treating people like they aren't humans simply because they have a job that "serves" you. Gross. Cancelled. Go away. 

 

Take, for example, this retail employee from the late '70s. He worked at a fancy jewelry store and got epic revenge on a snoot couple who came in to purchase an expensive wedding gift.

  • The couple were your classic Karens. They acted entitled and condescending to an employee who was being nothing buy helpful and kind to them. So once the couple purchased the gift for a price that is currently equivalent to $500-700 today, the retail employee devised his plan. Though the entitled customers put down a pretty penny for the gift, they now were made to look like total cheapskates after this retail employee got his revenge. See for yourself below!

  • Customers left, Jerry smiled and waved goodbye. When they were gone he was still smiling and I asked why he was so cheerful after that experience? Jerry said, "oh it's fine" and held up the price tag g in and smiled.
