You don't have to have a green thumb in order to be a plant mom. Just because you let your beloved fern pass away due to overwatering doesn't mean you're a bad plant mom. It means you're a realistic plant mom. All that matters is that you love them. Sure, you forget to water them sometimes and you're only giving them a sliver of light and expecting them to thrive in it… but that's not your fault. You live in a studio apartment in Brooklyn and that's all you can give it. 

Being a plant mom is all about surrounding your space with green things that make you happy. Being a plant mom is all about showing pictures of your plants to people at parties with the same fervor that people show off their children. Being a plant mom is when your ideal Saturday is spent at the Home Depot gardening section. I don't make the rules.
