Man uses spaghetti and meatballs, saucey wings, and pizza to put a power-tripping new boss in his place: ‘Lunch is essential and I can’t just skip it...’

Lunch time is a very important part of the day. In fact, it's so important, that many places state by law that you have to give your employees a lunch break. How the heck are you supposed to keep your brain sharp and muscles moving with no sustenance? And, I don't know about you, but I often choose several more minutes of sleep over breakfast, so lunch is usually my first meal of the day. So there is no way in heck I'm skipping it (and if I do, know that I am big sad that day). 

 

So when this employee's new boss kept scheduling meetings during his lunch, he had to put his foot down, or should I say he had to chomp down? When the employee tried to discuss with him the inconvenience of this new meeting hour, the new boss just told him to deal with it. That ignited something in the employee. So, he sure dealt with it the best way he could. He decided to have the meeting and his lunch. He tried to tell him that it's during his lunch house, but nothing. So now he just enjoys his noisy lunch during the meetings. But, oh, what's this? They seem to be moving the meeting now…

    I used to take my lunch break at the same time every day - 12 to 1. I don't eat breakfast (just coffee) and so lunch is essential and I can't just skip it.

    I used to come in super early to beat the rush hour (and get access to lab equipment I needed without a fuss) and left early to beat the rush hour again. A lab mate of mine would come in for 10 and be there into the early evening. We used a lot of the same equipment so this worked really well.

    ThereHasToBeMore 1387 I have called out absolutely every project manager I've worked with over the last few years that tried to schedule lunch meetings. "It's the only time everyone had available." "Why do you think that is, Susan?" I have my lunches marked blocked out on my calendar. I decline anything that interferes at this point. never gotten in trouble or even talked to about it.
