Whether or not you end up having a good relationship with your siblings is not entirely up to you, or even them. A lot of your relationship depends on your parents. The way they raise you, how they treat all of you, and how they teach you to treat each other are all major factors in the way you will later come to develop your independent feelings towards one another. 

If your parents never raised you to be kind to one another, to treat each other with respect, then how could you ever become friends with your siblings? And even if they do all that, and they make sure you enjoy each other's company, there are still plenty of ways they can set your relationship up for failure. Sometimes, even when they are not around anymore.

Inheritance is a big tool parents can use to totally mess their children's relationship with one another. All it takes is an uneven distribution, and the siblings will never talk to one another ever again. If you don't believe us, the story below might get the point across.
