People love to go on and on about how things have changed for the worse. I'm definitely included in those ranks… to be clear. It's so easy to talk about all the things that were better when you were a kid. How society has changed in bad ways and how people have gotten worse. The way things have gone in the last couple of decades hasn't been great, to say the least. But it's important to remember all the good things in your life. It's vital to keep track of everything that you're grateful for.

Even if things around you are looking bleak, there's always at least one thing to be happy about. Maybe you have a cat who likes to sit in your lap. Maybe you just had a really good cup of coffee. Maybe you're going to take a trip with your friends soon and you're pretty excited about that. It doesn't have to be big. It just has to be stuff that reminds you the good life is still possible. That the world isn't all going down the toilet in a way that can't be salvaged. Memes can be a good reminder of that.
