Space was literally the coolest thing that we could have learned about at school in the 90s. NASA was still pottering around space, and the eyes of the nation and the world were all fixed upon that gray rock in the sky, full of potential and possibilities.

But alas, our space education was rather limited back in the day and at best we got to learn about the many horrific failures of the Apollo missions. But those were not the facts we wanted to learn about the great expanse that lies above our heads. We grew up wanting to know the secrets of the universe, whether aliens existed, and if they did, what sports would they like? What bands would they listen to? Well, we might not have found the answers to those questions, but we have put together quite the curious list of space facts that they skipped at school in the 90s to blow your mind and satisfy your inner child.
