Guy gets fired on the spot for not giving in to owner's spoiled daughter, his replacement steals money and boss beg's for old employee back: 'I politely declined.'

When it comes to working in the service industry, it doesn't matter if you work high-end or fast-food—you're not immune to poor management. In fact, some might argue that high-end restaurants are even more of a chaos show. It's like the got to where they are simply by being able to bend the rules, but you can't pull the rug from under somebody's feet forever. (Never ending rugs do not exist as far as I know…) Long story short, if you have ever worked any service industry job, you most likely still have night sweats about it whether you're still working it or haven't worked it in 20 years.

 

Here we have the classic example of a power hunger manager. The owner of the restaurant seems pretty chill, but that tends to be the case: The owner who really only funds the money and shows face every now and then leaves all the managing up to the hired manager. Obviously. But then that manager gets an ego and employees get treated poorly and bada bing bada boom, you've got yourself a toxic workplace!

  • This toxic workplace happened in a high-end restaurant with the parking lot attendant. Basically, the manager's entitled daughter didn't get her way, so the attendant got fired on the spot.     Years ago I worked as a parking lot Attendant for a high end restaurant. Parking was for customers only. Not even employees could park there.
