Even with all the changes that it has gone through over the years, there is still a significant proportion of the internet that wouldn't be as attractive a place as it is if it weren't for memes. Amid all the annoying people, annoying posting, and increasing level of robot-created drivel that happens online these days, these stupid videos, words, and images are a lifeline to entertainment in an environment that can be very frustrating at times. Sure, they might not be to everybody's taste with every piece of humor that they offer us, but they remind us of why we keep ourselves addicted to these screens we love so much: they offer a slice of life that somebody else has taken upon themselves to present in an amusing way. It's nothing to be sniffed at, and for that, we have to appreciate all these funny bits and pieces that we come across.
