If your childhood and teenage years are a rich jungle of opportunity, time with family, and new experiences. Adulthood is a barren desert, where the remnants of your jungle linger merely as a rich oasis, one that you happen upon infrequently in your time spent traveling through an otherwise barren expanse.

When you have children of your own, your task becomes making them, in turn, think that this small patch of remaining forest is an infinite expanse of bountiful opportunity, hoping to give them the chances, lessons, and experiences that you left behind. Of course, your kids wants and expectations won't always align with your own aims of enriching their lives, even if you think that thing is in their best interest.

When you grow up, there will be some things and disagreements with your parents that you will continue to think you were in the right. However, when it comes to spending time with family, exploring new places, learning about your family and their history and their culture, and chasing the opportunities your parents provided you, you will regret your immature stubbornness and contrariness that prevented you from partaking… every single time.

Without a doubt, no matter how he feels about it today, and even if he has some incredibly valid points, this teen will live to regret how he feels in this moment once he is older. Unfortunately, this is something that you truly can't appreciate without the passage of time and the perspective of adulthood. The fact that he insisted on bringing his PS4 on the trip and was devastated that it "broke" is laughable and just speaks to the immaturity here, and perhaps eighteen is even too old to be acting so spoiled and entitled.
