  • "Cat found after 3 years"

Hello, I wanted to share a story that happened to me in the past few days. It all started two weeks ago when my girlfriend. and I took our evening walk with our cats. It was
  • around 7 PM when we passed a fenced property with a construction barrier, and our cats were playing together. Suddenly, we heard distressed meowing and: thought one of our cats had gotten hurt. But no—
  • it was coming from the property we had walked past. And there he was... sitting all alone in the greenery. Meow, meoooow. Panicked and desperate.
  • Our cats saw him and invited him to play. He came over and walked with us during our stroll. We didn't think much of it and eventually headed. home. But the tomcat
  • followed us all the way to our house. That's when we realized he must need food and water, especially in this heat. So, we put some out for him. He even let us scratch his head.
  • Over the next few days (since we take our cats for a walk every day), he continued to join us, and we provided food for him. We then made a Facebook post to see if anyone was missing him.
  • And guess what? Someone responded. Three years. He had been missing for three years. Apparently, he had wandered about eight kilometers from his home to our village and he liked it so much that he stayed.
  • In just two days, we made more new connections than in the past five years, haha. We arranged to meet his owners and attempted to catch him, since he had let us pet him before. No
  • chance. It took two whole days and a humane trap to capture him. But finally, after just a few hours, he is back with his owners. We did everything we could to bring little Carl home.
  • The funny part? On the property (at least 1,000 square meters), there is a family with a young boy named Karl. I think the similarity in names made Carl feel safe and welcome. Strange that we
  • only noticed him now! According to the property owner, he had been living there for two years. He was always a loner and never let anyone pet him. Perhaps the routine
  • of daily walks helped him build trust. It may have taken him two years to trust us. Hazel, our cat, has a lot of friends among the neighboring cats― everyone loves playing with her. In fact, two cats
  • from the neighborhood come to pick her up for playtime every day. Little Carl is finally home ―and he's doing well.
  • If you ever lose a cat, never give up hope. People like us may come along and help bring your beloved pet back. These past two days were some of the best of my life.
  • Sending lots of love to Carl and his owners.

  • Aneras_W Omg... I wonder if he went to that house because he heard the parents calling for their son "Karl" and thought they were calling for him.
