Anybody out there who thinks that rescuing a kitten is a simple case of "pick it up, take it home, live happily ever after" is very mistaken. Bringing a kitten into your home is a lot of work. Especially when you did not plan for it. Especially when that kitten was found crying inside the engine of a van while you were just trying to pick up some kombucha from the store.

Rescuing a tiny kitten means vet visits, special food, constant care, and sleepless nights filled with tiny meows demanding attention. And when you already have a reactive dog at home, well, things get a little more complicated. You have to carefully introduce them, supervise every interaction, and cross your fingers that everything goes smoothly. Luckily for this family, something amazing happened. The dog did not react badly. In fact, the exact opposite happened. The tiny kitten they named Dandie wiggled her way into everyone's hearts, including the dog's.

She was not a fan but thanks to yall's feedback she is safer (?) much appreciate all the kind comments about my sweet girl and concern for her. Animals deserve better in general and I'll forever be thankful for this little thing and her bringing out the best in my Aubie Girl (reactive pup)

    OSCgal She's adorable! And that's awesome that she's helping your pup. Yeah, we did flea collars back when I was a kid, and the family cat was fine. But times change and medical science improves. These days my cats get flea drops. You apply them monthly on the back of the neck. My cats hate it, but since they go outside (on leashes) I'm glad I can keep them safe. The brand we get is Advantage II.

    Pokeitwitarustystick. I'd recommend getting that collar off, anything and anyone she rubs with it will be touched by the medication and be really troublesome for small children & other animals. Also irritation to your own eyes if you accidentally lay your face where the collar was.
