If you have ever introduced one cat to another, then you know all the worries that come along with doing that. There is no guarantee that your cats will like each other, there's no guarantee that they will bond, certainly not right away. We worry about their mental well-being as well as possible aggression that they might show one another. If you do it right, if you let your cats meet slowly, gradually, with supervision, then chances are that your cats will become friends, even if it will take a minute. 

Sometimes though, you don't need to worry at all. Some cats are meant to be friends. Some cats are just twin lost souls wandering the earth, waiting to meet one another. We call these cats bonded pairs. And once they find each other, whether it's as kittens, or as it was in this case - with one of the cats being a fully-grown adult and the other being an itty bitty kitten, they may never be separated again.

    I was worried about how my male cat would react to another cat but he immediately started licking the kitten. Which was surprising since i raised my male cat since he was newborn and he has never seen another animal outside of his family before

  • This is what we talk about when we talk about the cat distribution system. Sometimes, things just work out between our cats as if it's meowgic. There are so many worries when introducing a kitten to an adult cat, but these worries, sometimes, are completely unnecessary. Like with these two.

  • They really do look like two copycats, and it is totally wholesome. This cat's fatherly instincts turned on so hard when he saw this kitten that no thought of hissing even crossed his mind. And we love it. We want more stories like these. And we want updates on these guys whenever pawssible.

    GwenSpacee My older cat Marco came to me at 5yo & with just about every sign he was split from mom/siblings way too early (think he was found alone too). 3 years later we've adopted a 1yo cat & now both of them are teaching each other ③ Marco knows the rules of the house & Fredo is the silliest cat to have ever catted lol

    Morgessa Monstrum This was what it was like for my wife's curmudgeon of a cat when we brought home two kittens. He stepped up to help take care of them and taught them how to cat! It's apparently something that often happens with neutered male cats.
