Neighborhood cat causes chaos as homeowner feud escalates over unwelcome yard visits and property boundaries from entitled feline parent: 'We asked you guys not to come onto our property'

As much as you can try, you can't control cats. They're going to do whatever they want to do. If that means lying down on your face while you're trying to sleep and ignoring all sense of purrsonal space, then that's where they're going to sleep. If they want you to change food, they will force you to change it by going on a hunger strike until you bring them what they want. That's just who cats are. They are purrfectly patient and have the wits to outsmart each and every one of us. 

But, that doesn't mean that you should just give up and let them run your house (even though they do). There are certain things you have to control as their pawrent. For instance, you can't just let them roam outside because they want to - you know better and have the power to keep them inside - especially if letting them out means constantly scaring your neighbors and trespassing on their property.   • What part of “stay off their property” does this guy not understand? If the cat comes over, the neighbors can come and give the cat back. It's a very simple solution. Doesn't involve yelling at all. Or trespassing.

    Personally: I'm in Australia. Almost all of us have fenced in front yards, it's normal and not rode or isolating. People know not to walk on other people's property (and if you do, you know it's naughty and are careful).

    Peengboe NTA. This is actually one of my pet peeves. Keep your cat on your own property and you won't have to fetch it in your neighbors yards. I don't understand why it's a difficult instruction to follow.
