AITAH for accidentally making a kid cry at a music festival

Me and my friends (all 21+) went to a music festival recently. It didn't have an age restriction but I believe people under the age of 16 needed to have someone of age with them.

During the day there were "family friendly" artists so I can see why there would be families there. However, at night it was mostly

d&b and artists with r-rated songs performing. Now heres where the actual story begins. Me and my friends were in the large crowd before the stage,

enough for us not to hear what she was saying. Personally I feel like music festivals aren't a place for children but then again maybe I'm the AH.

R ge-Parrot NTA imo. I feel like the event staff should have notified the mom how poor of an idea it was. Maybe they did and she went off though.

yameretzu NTA to be honest I agree with you that I wouldn't have taken my 12 and 8 year old to the later event.
  • 18
Frejian NTA If it's the type of music where a pit is likely to occur, the front row is definitely NOT the place for a 12 and an 8 year old. That is entirely on the mom. You can't help how the crowd surges.

Lisa_Knows Best I was around 25 when I got caught in a mosh pit. I was alone. If it wasn't for a very kind man and his partner I have no idea how I would have made it out. That's not a place for kids.

punk_lover I'm over people bringing small children to festivals, it's just not the time, especially the later shows

FormSuccessful1122 ESH Her kids didn't belong there if they can't handle it. The kid shouldn't have had her phone up. (People really need to learn this.) But how ride of you to just shove your way to the front as if you're the only fans there.

inkslingerben NTA If the mother wanted to keep her child safe, she should not have been so close to the stage where people push closer.
