How One Smart Collie Saved the Day by Alerting His Hooman to a Smoke-Filled Room Just in Time

There is hardly a moment more classic than when someone's dog came running over to them in some cartoon and started barking frantically, to which their pawrent somehow, rather pawfectly understood that little Timmy had fallen down the local well and could not get back up. And since then we have come to expect this kind of live saving behavior from our darling doggos, or at least not be all too surprised when they do it. But every now and then, when things feel calm and unassuming.

These moments rear their heads, and while we would be none the wiser to the impending danger, our daring doggos are not missing a beat and getting straight to work, making sure that tragedy is avoided. And that is the crux of this story we have lined up for you today, which even more specifically shows how selfless doggos are, for if this courageous canine had not altered his pawrent, the doggo would have had a crispy lizard treat to monch on.

  • See, this is one of the multitude of reasons that it makes sense to substitute a smoke detector with a doggo. A doggo does several things other than detect smoke and danger, and in this case the smoke detector that literally had one job and one job only, failed spectacularly. Dogs 1, technology 0.

  • Ok this seriously demands that they make a reboot of Lassie and instead of the rough collie breed they used in the original, the use a border collie. Sure it is somewhat of a lateral move, but what isn’t when you are remaking a classic we all remember and loved. It would just be nice to see a little change in their approach.
