As a parent, you can name countless times your kid saw a random item and decided it must be theirs. It can be a toy they saw at a shop's window display, a snack another kid ate next to them, or a random piece of trash they walked by at the park. If they saw it, and it appealed to them, they will never forget about it, or more accurately, never let you forget about it.

But most parents know that they can't give in to every demand their kids make, otherwise they will never hear the end of it. They can demand Jimmy's chocolate bar as much as they want, but that does not mean they are going to get it. Even if you have to sit through a temper tantrum and a few minutes (or hours) of tears, so be it. Kids can't always get what they want, right?
