When it comes to sibling rivalries, they come in all shapes and sizes. It can be a small healthier one that just encourages each other to be open, patient, and supportive of each other. Or it can be a completely toxic one that causes an imbalance and tear between the siblings. Preferably, you don't want any kind of sibling rivalry, but, alas, we are all just humans. Everybody has their own family drama, big or small, to address. 

 

In the case of this big brother and little sister, the unhealthiness came in the form of an entitled roommate. That's right, the family guilt tripped the little sister into allowing her older brother to live with her rent free. He moved in and acted more like she was his butler… As a self-described laid back person, she tried to just live with it. But after his bestie tried to shame her for something she tried to get her brother to help her with, the gloves were off.

    I will try not to bore you with the details, but idiot me lived with my brother for a while because my parents wanted to and we are family. And by that read he lived rent and : pretty much everything free, like I said I am an idiot (I thought I was just nice). I also found him a job btw.

  • the thing is he didn't care or even bothered to listen when I updated him, so I stopped. I worked really far (1h30 away) so it was hard to find time to meet with the owner...etc. (he worked on the same street btw)

  • I was taken aback and surprised by the question. the thing is I am always nice and polite and things usually gloss over me, even if you say something that can be misconstrued. so I think he didn't expect me to answer the way I answered.

  • just an other mama's boy, but a rotten one! I just didn't realise how much. and yeah the situation escalated a lot after that! lol. I left the country and broke/transfered the lease and he was mad about it lol (I guess he expected me to keep everything in my name)

  • A word of advice to people out there, when people like that are around you family of not just break of contact, they are not worth it. As for the ah les who find them excuses and tell you that they are family or witness and watch without saying anything they are bad people cut them out too.
