Adult daughter skips out on parent's 4th of July party, as the "favorite" they expect her to come: "My siblings have dipped out"
Independence Day, the good ol' Fourth of July, July 4th. A holiday favorite of any good American, not only because it's the country's birthday, but because it's a free day to just eat hotdogs, drink next to pools, and watch beautiful and colorful fireworks go off. From backyard cookouts, to neighborhood parties, to beach extravaganza's, July 4th is one of the best holidays, period. This year for the 4th, I won't be in the US, but I will be celebrating nonetheless.
Friends and I will still BBQ up some burgers and make some French fries in the oven.
It's a holiday that you can spend with anyone -- friends, family, neighbors, or even random people. There's no end to the holiday options. Last year I remember driving up to Tahoe, camping for a few days, even doing some climbing out there, and grilling up some delicious meat during the firework show.
In the story below, the protagonist might be guilted into a party she doesn't want to go to. Read the full story below.
