Daughter refuses to buy a new car after parents give hers to her brother, parents demand she figure out a way to still drive them around: ‘I just roll my eyes now’

As much as it is fun and quite liberating to own a car, some people do not find it to be a necessity. For those who fully work from home, those who live in a crowded city when everything is within walking distance, and those who manage to rely plenty on public transportation, a car is not something they feel the need to bother themselves with.

Though it's great to know that if you have a car, you can go wherever you want, it is also a lot of work and responsibility. Even setting aside the financial burden of maintaining a car, there are enough reasons why one decides they don't want or need to buy one. And the idea of others using you to drive them around, kind of like the parents in the story below are doing, is a good enough reason if you ask us.

  • If someone wants you to do them a favor as big as becoming their personal Uber driver, the least they can do is provide the vehicle they expect you to use. At least, that is supposed to be the case for the parents below, especially after they handed over their car to a son who lives a good 45 minutes away…

    I changed a word because my father didn't use it he just implied it. Also I stopped paying the insurance on the car which is still registered to my dad.
