49 and 47-year-old property owners shut down unrelenting friends after they repeatedly try to invite themselves over for vacation at their lake house: 'He finally got a hint'

Some of us seek the outdoors to get away from it all, while others chase the serenity that comes with nature. For this particular couple, their lake house was not only an investment in their outdoorsy well-being but a refuge from their bustling everyday lives.

They would never let their friends—regardless of their 15-year friendship—demolish the quiet solitude of their abode. Strictly following their own boundaries of socialization, they were able to thwart the imposing efforts of their friends and fight back against their pushy demands.

My home is my sanctuary. I understand that many people have a revolving door at their house, hoping for visitors and inviting friends over at every opportunity, but for me, my home space is sacred. It's where I retreat from society and enjoy my clear space, and it's where I go to get away from it all!
So if I ever have a lake house (fingers crossed), you better believe that I won't be accepting every self-invitation from every schmuck on the street—no matter who you are, you won't be invited to my lake house. Especially if you're pushy and insistent…
