He was raised around rescued cats. His grandfather had a rescued furbaby that he had to help relearn how to walk! He showed his grandson how to care for “broken” animals and how to be patient and loving. So, when a cat diagnosed with severe anxiety and OCD that was rescued from a hoarding situation became available, this little boy knew exactly what to do.
You see, this big ‘ole orange cat named Banjo was having trouble finding his furever family after the trauma he had to endure. His first family ended up returning him to the shelter because he was too afraid to bond with them. But once this eight-year-old boy entered the picture, the cat’s demeanor completely changed.

He went from a cat that didn't like anybody and spent most of his time hiding, to a big ole fat baby who never wanted to leave the arms of his person—being the eight-year-old boy. This feels like destiny and you can see it in the big, loving, cartoonish eyes the cat gives to his hooman whenever he is safe in his arms.
