However, even though she'll go in for a bite and sometimes swat your hand away with her mvrder mittens, it's clear she does want love. She's just over-stimulated! We've all been there kitty, don't worry. The recommend she get a foster ASAP so she doesn't have to stress out in the walls of a busy shelter. "I heard that this cat wasn't so nice, so of course, I had to go sit down with her. People have been calling her the “Over-stimmy Queen,” so I had to see what that was all about. Right when I walked in, Kitty hopped off her bench to come and rub on me. I was a little suspicious at first, but she was being really sweet, so I decided to go and try and give her some pets. She leaned right into my hand, so I was like, cool. This is going great. I sat up on the bench, and she jumped right into my lap. You can see how happy I am here. She's rubbing on me. She's having a great time.
So I decided to kind of just keep petting her and keep an eye on her to see kind of when she hits her breaking point. And here's the first little snarf that I get. So I kept petting just a little bit more carefully this time, and then she did kind of mouth me. And you see, that paw was at the ready. So I gave her a little cool down, and then she came right back over.
Normally, of course, I would not keep petting her, but we needed to see what the behaviors were like. We think she's a really sweet cat who's a bit overwhelmed in the shelter. She'd love a home with someone who will learn how to read her and respect her space."
