22 Vintage NFL Cards Showcasing Steelers Legends

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been the butt of many a pun since their formation over one hundred years ago. Now, while their name might inspire any number of jokes, they sure did earn their six Super Bowl titles. Some credit their successes to luck, others point to the Steel Curtain Dynasty of the 70s.

A phenomenon where the Steelers' defense was simply unbreakable, with legends such as Mean Joe Greene, Jack Lambert, Jack Ham and Terry Bradshaw holding down the fort and making sure that nothing and no one broke through. And those legends have been immortalized in their NFL trading cards, for kids throughout the ages to carry and collect. And while some of these cards would have just been a pipe dream to own while we were growing up. We managed to get our hands on some of the digital copies of them, such that we can take a look back at one of the brightest moments in Steelers' history.

Terry Bradshaw is man who knows a thing or two about commitment. He played for the Steelers for 14 consecutive seasons, and yet you are looking square into the face of his rookie card. Just think that this was taken around a decade before this man’s career would peak.

Jack is also well known for his loyalty having given eleven years to the Pittsburgh Steelers. And here too we are graced with his highly sought after rookie card. He was a defensive cornerstone of the Steelers’ and for his efforts was celebrated with the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in 1976.
