When you move into a new property, you might not be aware of certain relationships your neighbors had with the previous homeowner of your current home. Some neighbors might have cut a parking deal with the previous homeowner's driveway, while others might have gone halfsies on a shared Wi-Fi connection. It's important to note that although the previous homeowner might have agreed to these circumstances, they are nullified once a new owners moves into the home (and that's you!).
Even though you most likely want to start your neighborly relationships off on the right foot, you also don't have to put yourself through the ringer to be accepted and liked. At that point, some of your neighbors might try to take advantage of your unfamiliarity with the neighborhood, and then, you'll have a sign on your back that says, "kick me."
