Midwesterners are usually good people. This isn't to say that all Midwesterners are good people or that all good people are Midwestern, but the two do go hand in hand. Maybe it's because there isn't a whole lot to do in the Midwest. Sure, we have cultural activities, but we're used to making our own kinds of fun. We love building pillow forts and going on hikes, walking our dogs, and playing games of bags. All these simple, wholesome activities make for people who don't have time for drama.

We've gotten all of our creative energy out by painting pictures in the sand at the Indiana Dunes. We don't have time for hithers and dithers and keeping up with the Joneses. We're too busy grilling brats and hot dogs. We are simple people, in a good way. We have simple desires and simple ways of being in the world. Don't blame us.
