Some people will just make up stories whole cloth and expect you to believe them no matter what. You probably have at least one person like this in your life: they'll make up stories about any and everything, from where they were all day, to who they're texting, to how much money they're spending on frivolous shopping trips. Sometimes they don't even mean anything malicious by these constant lies, but they seemingly can't help but make things up for literally no reason. 

This MIL seems to be a particularly frustrating example of this. When you fall in love with someone, you don't always take their family matters into consideration before falling head over heels. You start talking, you go on a few dates, meet their friends, take a few weekend trips, and then you start meeting their family members. By that point, you're really attached to that person, so you view their parent's quirks through rose-colored glasses. Plus, you think, you'll only see them every now and then, so what does it matter if Dad is bossy or Mom is too clingy?

    "AITA for getting my MIL kicked out after she spilled coffee in my suitcase?"

    1 (24f) came home at 3am from work trip few days ago. I was jetlagged, only wanted to see my wife (25f) and go to sleep.     pixiecantsleep NTA. The suitcase was zipped up and closed and standing on its end. To get it to how mil had it she would have had to lay it down, unzip it, open it up and then go into the kitchen, make the coffee and then pour it in.
