  • My neighbor accused me of stealing her parking spot... in my own driveway
  • I'm 27F and live in a small townhouse complex. Each unit has its own driveway, clearly marked, and mine fits two cars. I only have one, so I usually park right in the middle, not to be a j, just because I like having space on both sides.
  • A month ago, a new neighbor moved in next door. One evening, she knocked on my door looking super annoyed. She told me I should be parking to the side of my driveway because it makes it harder for her to back out of hers. Mind you, our driveways don't overlap at all.

  • I tried to be polite and said I'd think about it, but also reminded her it's my space and I'm not blocking anyone. She just scoffed and walked away.
  • The next morning, I found a note on my windshield saying some people don't know how to be good neighbors and that I should learn to share. Share what, exactly? My own parking?
  • Then a couple days later, I come home and her car is parked halfway in my driveway. I literally had to do a 6-point turn just to squeeze in. I went over and told her she needed to move it immediately or I'd have it towed. She rolled her eyes and slammed the door, but eventually moved it ten minutes later.

  • Now I've got a camera pointed at my driveway and I'm back to parking de d center. She can deal with it.
  • Shoddy Move6054 Nah, I'd be parking diagonally now just to assert dominance. Bonus points if you add traffic cones.
  • ReactionEither6684 That "share" note would've sent me into orbit. Girl what exactly are you supposed to be sharing? Your property?

  • SmokingInn⚫ I'd get the cones and liquid nail them to the concrete where you want them THEN set up a camera catching them trying to remove them lol
  • roxywalker. If I'm feeling salty I'm parking in her driveway just to get her attention and asking her how it feels to be inconvenienced.
  • NYCQuilts Your mistake was saying you'd think about it. Give these people an inch and they will take your driveway.

  • solomons-marbles Put a private parking sign on the front of your garage. Make sure it's one that says you'll be towed.
