Deaf doggo Milkshake wished to see her puppies again after being separated years ago, so her pawrents find her daughter and drive 1400 miles to reconnect their fuzzy family

Family is family, no matter if you have four legs or two. We can't imagine the pain of being separated from our child, and don't you dare say that dogs feel it any differently than we do. If you think that, we recommend you watch the interview with Jane Goodall, where she speaks about how she was pawsitively ostracized for giving her chimps names and feeling empathy for them. She expresses what we as pet owners have known from the beginning - that animals have very real emotions and personalities. If we experience loss, they must as well.

The pawrents of Milkshake, the deaf doggo in this video, realized that she had a motherly instinct that was not being fulfilled. They also knew that she had had a litter of puppies before arriving to them, so they reached out to find one of her puppies. They found her daughter and drove 1400 miles to reconnect them. After watching their meeting, we dare you to tell us that they don't remember each other or that they weren't happy to see each other again. Go on, we dare you.

  • They even look alike! 51% match looks right on the money. In the video, they even show a clip of them both playing with a tennis ball in very similar ways. We would love to find our doggo's siblings, but we're not sure if she has any. She was found alone near a gas station, no mom, dad, or siblings in sight. We don't want to think about what she had to go through until we took her home!

  • 1400 miles away! That's a lot. That's basically the equivalent of driving from Chicago to Miami. Or, if you're a west coaster, it's like driving from Seattle to San Diego (which is basically the whole west coast). That is some true commitment and dedication right there. What pawrents won't do for their fur children, right?

    While both dogs are extremely happy and content in their homes, we have decided it's time to make a return trip as soon as possible back to Sage's neck of the woods. Leah and I are starting to look at possible dates this winter to take the doggies on a road trip once again to that part of the country, and will be reaching out to Sage's family to try and coordinate a day they can spend together.

    It is very difficult living 1400 miles away, but we do this to inspire others to do something for their animals even if it's small. They are living lives too, and whether they remember or don't remember their puppies, whether they wish or don't wish, the point is to make them the focus once in a while, they deserve it.

More or less a completion of thier journeys. Two separate ways. Yet because of you and everything you put into it. It's a beautiful ongoing tale I can't wait to watch read and probably cry AGAIN.
