Cat community comes together to help 16-year-old pet pawrent who can't afford to bring their cat to the vet in heartwarming act of kindness: 'I'll pay for the Uber'

Do you know why we don't trust people who don't like animals, feline fam? It's because those that do are some of the kindest, most generous people we've ever met. They are almost always willing to help other pet parents in need, without even knowing them. Like, for example, when people caught this homeless man throwing a "birthday party" for his doggos, and he ended up getting thousands of dollars in donation to help him and his puppers out. They know how much their fluffy feline means to them, and understand the purrfectly perilous life of a struggling pawrent. Those surprise vet bills can really sneak up on you, especially if you don't have insurance.

At one time in our life, we had to choose between feeding our cat and feeding ourselves. Luckily, we've climbed our way out of that horrible scenario, but we understand the struggle. We didn't have Reddit or Facebook to help us crowdfund; we had to figure it out ourselves. But not today! A 16-year-old cat owner needed to take her cat to the vet, and didn't have the help of her parents or the money to do so. The cat community reached out to pay for her Uber and her vet visit. This is proof for, at least right now, there is still good in the world.

    I'm taking my cat on my scooter (I only got a permit). I have no money in my credit card and my mom can't take us. I'm gonna carry her in her crate to the vet nearby. I wonder if they can provide a free service for her??

  • Usually, we're not one to give out money so easily, but if it's for a kitty in need, we'll pay up. We feel sorry for this girl having to figure out how to take her cat to the vet by herself; that's not something a kid should have to do on their own. We hope everything works out for this awwdorable feline!

    OneChunkyBoii I can only speak on my local area, but normally vets in my area don't do anything without payment. You should try looking up charities near by. I know some charities will help pay for treatment and sometimes there are charity ran vet services that will provide services for a discounted price and/or a payment plan.

  • Purrsonally, we've never heard of a vet doing anything for free. But, never say never! There are people who are willing to do things out of the goodness of their hearts, and we hope that they will help this pet in distress. Wouldn't you want someone to help you in a time of need?

    you want for your kitty but be honest and don't rip people off. Or ask the vet if you could start a GoFundMe account and have people help you directly to help pay the vet bill and not go to you.

    Dienowwww Most vets are for profit. Not for ethics. You can look for places that offer free or low cost services but it won't be easy
