Criticizing someone for something that they're doing as a favor is pretty bad form. It's okay to offer constructive feedback on what they're doing so that the favor is getting done properly, but even then, things won't be perfect. After all, it is a favor, not an obligation. But turning to nitpicking or excessively pointing out flaws in what they've done for you is only going to come across as ungrateful. Of course, you're free to not accept the favor at all if it's just not working for you, but expecting to be able to have your cake and eat it too is the time of entitlement that has coined the term "choosing beggar" in online communities.

As with anything in life, there's a fine line between what is and isn't ok. When it comes to something like pet sitting or childcare, it's ok to tell someone how to care for your pet or child properly and give them instructions, but framing and timing are key, and even then, there are bounds and limits.

This 19-year-old brother has been helping his 24-year-old single mother sister out with taking care of her 1-year-old daughter, his niece. He and his parents have been caring for the girl quite frequently to concerning levels. It really sounds like she is neglecting her own responsibilities as a mother and relying on the fact that her family cares about her daughter in order to coerce them into "helping out" with raising her daughter. It would seem that she probably knows this, and some sort of self-defensive reaction is causing her to lash out. This is probably why she has chosen this moment to criticize a nonexistant issue when it comes to what her brother was feeding her daughter after she woke up from a nap.
