'Please record the entire encounter': HOA sends letter to resident demanding they pay pet rent for their unauthorized "cat", only to find out that it's neither fluffy nor feline

Well, cat-lovers, we've officially crossed the territory into Silly Land, with no way out in sight. Today's story harkens us back to the origins of I Can Has Cheezburger, where we brought you nothing but the most hissterical, and also the stoopidest, cat-related things on the internet. Today, our audience is more into the dramatic stories of people "stealing" cats or Karens getting mad at cat owners for quite literally no reason. Although we've tried to stay current and give the people what they want, we will never stray away from the stories that make up the DNA of I Can Has Cheezburger.

We started this website with meowrvelous determination, a purrfect passion for silly cat memes, and to purrvide humor to all hoomans who love cats. And we can tell you that we are pawsitively certain that you'll find a ravishingly ridiculous post below. A woman got a letter from her HOA demanding she pay pet rent for her "unauthorized cat". We're not going to spoil the surprise, but we guarantee you'll get a giggle out of this. As if HOA's could get any more absurd, well, turns out they can. If we got a letter like this from our HOA, we would have done the exact same thing (post it on the internet for everyone to have a good laugh at).

    August 18, 2025 Apartment #27-206 Dear It was brought to the attention of the management office that there is an unauthorized cat residing in your apartment. Your pet must be registered with the management office and be listed on the current lease agreement after the management's approval. All applicable pet fees must be paid. Please contact the management office within 24 hours of this notice. Thank you for your prompt attention,

  • The number of ways that the purrson could keep this joke going is endless. They could show up with monopoly money, get numerous fake cats and put them up all over the neighborhood, then demand everyone pay pet rent for their new cats…. man, we wish we were in their shoes right about now.
