Sometimes you wish you could go back. To simpler times. But were they really simpler, or were we just children? Human beings have a habit of thinking they're living through the most important times as they're happening. Whatever our present situation is, we think, "This must be the most impactful thing that has ever happened." Rarely do we think, "We are living through precedented times." Because we never are. 

Change is the only constant you can rely on. Things are always getting weirder, bigger, and generally harder to pin down. It's our job as adults to ride the wave and not hold onto anything too hard, lest we crush it in our fists. But sometimes riding the wave is easier when we allow ourselves to look back. Looking back on where we came from can give us important clues about what's ahead. Or it simply brings us back to times we can laugh and smile about.
