Tenant gets evicted and leaves cat behind, neighbor quickly swoops in to give terrified tortie a safe home with her 2 cats: 'At least she is safe now'

Stray cats are everywhere. You see them darting across streets, lounging on fire escapes, or peeking out from dumpsters, and you never really know their story. Unfortunately, sometimes it's way more heartbreaking than you think. That's exactly what happened in today's story.

A tenant got evicted and, for reasons nobody can fully understand, left their cat behind. Luckily, a neighbor noticed her wandering the parking lot, clearly scared and confused. She stepped in fast, grabbed the cat, and quickly got to work.

  • For the first day, the kitty was terrified — hissing, puffing up her tail, clearly not ready to trust anyone yet. The neighbor’s small bathroom probably didn’t help, but patience and some Churu treats went a long way.

    Now, the cat has moved into a bigger room with a window and toys, and she’s slowly getting used to her new surroundings. The neighbor has answered all the questions any cat lover would ask: how she’s adjusting, what her favorite treats are, and what comes next. 

    It’s still early days, but the kitty is safe, fed, and has a couple of resident cats to meet, and that’s a start.
