We were a waiter for a few years, and it was probably one of the hardest jobs we ever had. Everyone should work in customer service at least once in their lives so they can understand the struggle of these under-appreciated and undervalued employees. Something that's not even your fault could result in you getting a 0% tip, and if you live in a state like Virginia that pays waiters below minimum wage, a 0% tip could result in a huge loss for the night. The most we ever received was $500, but that's nothing compared to the waitress who received something more valuable than gold at her restaurant job.

Well, it really depends on how you describe value. If we're talking about money, this kitten she took home is definitely worth less than gold (in fact, it will be very expensive in the future), but if we're talking about the value of the heart, this floofy voidling is like winning the lottery. The kitten was hungry and looking for help, so it wandered into a restaurant (good choice on the kitty's part). One waitress couldn't say no, so she scooped her up, became her new mom, and made her the meowfficial mascot of the cafe. Best tip ever.

We are getting more and more convinced that cats actually speak hooman, they just feign purrfect ignorance to make us look like the stoopid ones. Sometimes, we'll tell our cats something we're sure they won't understand, and then they do exactly what we wanted them to. And we're not talking about easy things, like “Dinner time?”, no, we're talking about things like “We're going out to get groceries, do you want anything?”, and then they'll walk over and pat their food bowl.
