I left my cat with a sitter and now she's pregnant

Pregnant black cat including 'They didn't say anything all this time and now I find out she's having babies!!'

I recently went home for vacation for 2 months and left my cat with a cat sitter. They had amazing reviews and good ratings so I felt okay leaving her. Yesterday when I went to pick her up, I found out she's PREGNANT!!! I specified that my

cat is not sterilized yet and they said it was okay and they'll keep that in mind. They didn't say anything all this time and now I find out she's having babies!! I'm a first time pet owner, I don't know what to do, I don't know how to take care of her. She's not playing a lot but seems to eat well and use the litter also. I'm freaking out!! What should I do next?

cowkitty17. 16h ago Also the sitter is trying to manipulate you by offering help with the kittens so you don't give them a negative review. Please don't believe that's going to happen.

CountDrakula • 15h ago I would: - get your cat spayed/ab ed - sent the sitters the bill - after it's paid, leave a bad review

ZelaAmaryills 16h ago I would say spay and al t. You didn't say how old she is but if she hasn't gotten spayed yet I'm guessing young. Cats under a year old can have issues with pregnancy and may abandon the kittens even if it goes well.

Make sure to go scorch earth with the pet sitter, they really f ed up here and at the very least deserve to have you leave a horrible review and let others know about it.

. AmyKnowsPets • 16h ago So they let her outside or they had unsterilized males in their home. Either way they need to be held accountable and people need to know not to use them. That's not an accident, that's carelessness

and I would DEFINITELY spay your cat ASAP. Don't wait for the babies- the world doesn't need more kittens and she doesn't need to have kittens at 8 months- it puts her and the kittens at risk.

okbringoutdessert 15h ago • I adopted a 6 month old from the humane society and a 4 month old from PetSmart. Both already fixed. I had a stray kitten around 12 weeks come into my house and vet

wanted to wait until a certain weight to fix which was 6 months. I have seen kittens as young as 4 months getting pregnant. Cats should get fixed as soon as vet says it's safe.

OP I am sorry you find yourself in this situation. I don't think the pet sitter is reliable. Your cat needs to be apay abort. Don't let her have her kittens and try to re-home them. It is so much worse for your still kitten!!!! Let her finish being a kitten. Getting impregnated is already a traumatic experience she should not have had to endure.

bookfan5874.15h ago I straight up wouldn't pay for the services. On the matter of pregnancy, you can ask a vet to spay far along if she's not too

Bad review in the form of smiley faces and checkboxes

SheepishQuaaality • 15h ago Man, my conspiracy brain is wondering if they specifically waited for someone with an unspayed kitty, had their own unneutered kitty, and are trying to get double paid from selling backyard litters. Very, very, very unlikely, but I can't help think of the worst
  • 17
I wish you and your kitty the best! I'd absolutely post a bad review, even make a square space for it if they try to delete/hide my review. That's f ed up man. There's also like O way they didn't know your cat had s

z-eldapin 15h ago First, where did you find the cat sitter and how did this happen. Next, go to the vet and see what the options are.

AffectionateTaro3209 15h ago Oh wow. Well firstly I hope you do whatever you can to let people know this happened so they don't use that sitting service. Secondly def spay ASAP!

Tamtambanane • 15h ago Honestly, small claims court for any fees associated with this. Since you found them online, there should be a trail of text that you spoke before and after the incident.

Saberise 14h ago Is it just me or does anyone else think the sitter did this intentionally. First question the sitter asked was if the cat was spayed. Claimed not to know if the other cat was neutered. Offering to find homes for the kittens.

SunlightNStars • 14h ago Why would you go on vacation for two months when your cat is under a year old and not spayed?

lamMagicalMew ⚫ 15h ago . Just because I've met...well... people...I wonder if they let it happen that so she has kittens that they can conveniently ,help' you with aka get money for them on the other end.

How DareThey1970 · 15h ago . Definitely give the sitter a bad review and also give them a piece of your mind. Take the cat to the vet. Board the cat at the vet in the future.
