If somebody gave you the option to go into space tomorrow, would you take it? Would you hop on the Blue Origin flight with Katy Perry? Would you ride up there with Gayle King as you all look down from outer space? I'm not sure if I would. I don't have a huge desire to leave the Earth's atmosphere. If I had to guess, I don't think I ever will. I will never leave the orbit of this Earth. Unless something goes horribly wrong in my lifetime, and we all have to evacuate to Mars, and all my friends are going. If I were the sole survivor of an apocalyptic situation, I don't think I would try to survive any longer. I think I would want to go down with the ship. 

But not everybody feels this way. Some folks are dreaming up ways for us to continue life not on this Earth. More power to them ultimately, but I don't wanna be there. I like Earth. It has been a good home for me and everybody whom I've ever known and loved throughout our lives. It would feel like a betrayal to abandon her in the 11th hour. This is why we have sci-fi movies and TV shows. They show us what this type of scenario would be like without putting our lives in danger.
